Academic mentor nominated for a Leicester Mercury School Award
Congratulations to Hilary Fielder, our academic mentor, who has been nominated for a Leicester Mercury School Award in the Support Staff of the Year category. Hilary has been supporting students here at Fullhurst Community College for nearly six years.
Her nomination said: "Hilary works specifically with Year 11 students to help them to get the best qualifications that they can. She is permanently on the go, supporting key groups of students in Maths and English lessons every day and also meets students individually to mentor them and to check on their progress."
A shocked Hilary said: "It's a nice surprise to be nominated. It's not something that happens every day. I try to work to the best of my ability and it's lovely to recognised for that. I thoroughly enjoy my job. It's so rewarding to see a student reach their potential and to see them blossoming through time."

The annual Leicester Mercury's Leicestershire School Awards aim to celebrate those schools, individuals and teams whose dedication, innovation, and hard work are making a real difference for their pupils and their communities. The finalists for each award will be invited to a glittering award ceremony on Thursday, June 30 at the City Rooms in Leicester. Best of luck Hilary!
