    Graduate Programme

The Fullhurst Graduate Programme is to encourage, nurture and accelerate the academic progress of the year 11 students in the college. The Graduate Students are those who demonstrate excellence in academic achievement, exemplary conduct in terms of their own behaviour and high rates of attendance in college. As such, being a Graduate Student is a title that all students strive to have, and those that meet these standards are rewarded and celebrated throughout the year. The intention of the college is for all students to end year 11 as Graduate Students, to allow them to have as many options as possible for their future destinations. To allow this to happen, over the past few years the college has developed a multi-layered programme of support to raise the achievement of pupils including academic interventions for them to partake in, academic mentoring and coaching, and pastoral support initiatives.

    Impact

Past experience has found the Graduate Programme to be highly successful in raising achievement.

In 2016,  the Graduate group achieved an overall progress score of +0.99. This means that the Graduate Students achieved nearly a whole grade higher, across eight subjects, than the national expectation for these pupils. Furthermore, the attainment of the Graduate students was on average +1.63 grades higher per subject than Non-Graduates.

In 2015, 84% of Graduate Students achieved at least 5A*-C including English and Maths. This was over 10% higher than the Minimum Expected Grade (MEG) targets of this cohort.

Being a Graduate Student is ultimately a privilege, and something that will stay with our Graduate Students forevermore.
