KS4 Revision
At Fullhurst, students are introduced to revision as part of their Key Stage 3 Curriculum Cycles. By Key Stage Four, students will have had some practice looking at the revision techniques of ‘look-cover-write-check’ and mind maps, and applying these to different subjects to help them to revise. In Key Stage Four students encounter these techniques again, and learn additional techniques, including flashcards, elaboration and self-quizzing, as well as looking at how to practise independently in preparation for exams.
All of the techniques students learn to help them with their revision are grounded in research, and students are introduced to the theory behind the techniques in tutor time. They also look at ways in which to enact these in tutor time and in their lessons.
In the run up to mock exams and real GCSE exams students are given revision planners and timetables to help them to organise themselves and plan out their time.
