Extra-curricular activities

Welcome to our extra-curricular offer at Fullhurst Community College. We welcome children from 8am for a free breakfast should they wish, until 8.25am on both campuses.

At Fullhurst, we understand the importance of extra-curricular activities to support the curriculum and develop our young people to be ready to take on the world. We want our students to be able to explore their passions further by developing their knowledge and skills within a range of different subjects, from Sport to Expressive Arts, Design Technology to Science. We know that these opportunities will allow them to grow, not only within that specialist area, but also as a person, a teammate and as a leader. Yet, also providing an opportunity to develop friendships with others to build upon communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

We make an extra effort to ensure that our most disadvantaged students can access this additional curriculum offer.

The PE department offers students the chance to compete as part of a team or to attend participation clubs. No matter the prior standard or experience of the students, there is something for everyone. Sports and activities on offer include basketball, football, netball, badminton, rugby, cricket, athletics and much more. Each term sporting activities will change to align with upcoming fixtures across the city.

There are similarly many opportunities to perform, through Dance, Music and Drama (including an annual production) in which students will be re-enacting ‘The Addams Family’, all of which can be enjoyed during lunchtimes and after school by many students. Students can learn to play a new instrument, form their own band and improve their vocals. For those with a love of music, we are now offering small group and one-to-one peripatetic lessons.

We are committed to ensuring all students have access to a diverse range of clubs to enrich their experiences and help them flourish both academically and personally. At Fullhurst, we believe in fostering well-rounded individuals ready to excel in their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society.
