Lino prints

Students have researched folk art for homework. We discussed as a group, key elements of folk art such as restricted colour, cultural pattern and nature based shapes. Each student chose an animal and created pattern inside their shape, producing a lino plate and print from their design. They used chine colle methods to apply colour as well as experimenting with repeats. In groups, students then planned and printed their lino plates on to fabric, considering layout and colour.
