At Fullhurst we believe in giving students options in year 9. Through doing this we believe that students will be able to achieve their full potential, study courses in more depth and so be better prepared for the rigours of GCSE and at same time maintain a broad and balanced range of subjects.
Our advice is that students should not make any option choices based on what their friends are doing, as they will have different strengths and areas of interest. Neither should they base their decisions on the teacher they are currently taught by, as this may well be different for the following year. They should opt for courses which will allow them to be successful in the future.
When making options choices it is essential that the decisions made are as informed as possible and for this reason all students will have a one-to-one interview about the courses they have opted to study.
